YOUTH AND PEACE:
MODERATION AS A DRIVER FOR GLOBAL CHANGE
INTRODUCTION
The Asian Youth Council is a
non-governmental regional youth organization, formed on the 14th of August
1972, to provide a common platform for Asian youth and youth leaders pursuing similar
objectives for economic and social development. Memberships of the AYC
comprised of national youth organizations recognized by their respective
governments.
In order to celebrate the nurturing
and development of youths in the realms of Asian, the Asian Youth Council with
the General Union of Yemen Youth, is organizing the Asian Youth Conference, on the sidelines
of the Asian Youth Council Executive Committee Meeting (AYC-ECM). The aim of
the Asian Youth Conference is to foster the relationship of the youth
participants that comes from different backgrounds and also to get inputs and
ideas from the youths through discussions and activities that will be planned
by the organizing committee, participants are also expected to forward a youth
resolution to the Asian Youth Council.
OBJECTIVES
- To foster an integrated approach to educate youth on moderation.
- To create a culture of peace and support within the youth community.
- To create awareness among the youth organization’s leaders on how moderation is best promoted in a world where the importance of democracy is always maintained.
- To discuss and educate the young leaders on best approach to moderation as driver for global change.

PARTICIPANTS
•
The organizer is
inviting 5 youth delegation (man or woman- comprising one head of delegate and four participants) from the member countries of Asian Youth Council such as
Malaysia, Cambodia, China,
Brunei Darussalam, South Korea, Mongolia etc and as the host country 150 youths
from Yemen.
•
Total will be
targeted 250 participants.
• Participants
should be between 18-35 years old during registration, able to communicate in
English and participates in the whole program.
•
Youths leaders,
government servants, private sectors, members of NGOs, youth activists,
Lecturers etc
•
Special
invitation from Africa, USA and Europe youth organization.
EXPENSES/COST
•
Participants are
required to arrange and pay for their own international flights
•
The organizer
will provide all delegations, except for local participants, unless required,
with local hospitality including food, accommodation and local transportation
during the event, head of delegation will be accommodated in a single room
while other participants will share twin rooms by two persons
•
The organizer is
not responsible for VISA application for participants that requires a VISA to
attend the conference
